Recommendation
Kanten (also called agar) is a gelatin made from seaweed. So what’s it got to do with land-locked Nagano? It is processed by laying out the seaweed in extremely cold temperatures, which mountainous Nagano has in abundance in wintertime. Kanten Papa is a company in Ina City that specializes in manufacturing kanten. The civically-minded company has opened the Kanten Papa Garden, with facilities based on kanten and its healthy properties all in a peaceful, wooded setting. Come learn all about kanten products and enjoy Nagano’s relaxing nature at the same time.
