Recommendation
Nanawarai means "7-laughs", referring to the ability of this sake to raise people's spirits. The Nanawarai brewery was established in the Kiso Valley in 1892. The valley is mostly cut-off from the surrounding areas and has developed a distinct culinary heritage involving river fish, unique mushrooms and edible mountain plants and ... a tendency to be picky about sake. Born in this environment, Nanawarai is a no-nonsense sake made by and for purists. Tours are offered by appointment.
