Tour the Nanawarai’s Sake Brewery, the Pride of Kiso Valley.
Kiso River Valley
Description
Nanawarai is the representative sake brewery of the Kiso Valley, and one of Nagano Prefecture's most well-known sakes. Take a tour of this major sake brewery.
Recommendation
Nanawarai means "7-laughs", referring to the ability of this sake to raise people's spirits. The Nanawarai brewery was established in the Kiso Valley in 1892. The valley is mostly cut-off from the surrounding areas and has developed a distinct culinary heritage involving river fish, unique mushrooms and edible mountain plants and ... a tendency to be picky about sake. Born in this environment, Nanawarai is a no-nonsense sake made by and for purists. Tours are offered by appointment.
